Genesis 17:1-2

Continuing in our sermon series we are calling GOD IS…. I AM…. Today's message is regarding the power and strength of God and authority that we have in His name.

Insecurity has such a negative connotation in our day. If someone is categorized as being insecure, it means they are weak, they don't have confidence, they have low self-esteem, they are afraid. But if you would peel back the layers that people hide behind, if you could see past the façade and all the wonderfulness that people portray about themselves, if you could see them behind closed doors, if you could get into their hearts, you would find that many people are insecure. Let me just say from the on-set, that there really is no security in this world system. Our only security is in God. It is in God that we find out who we are. Why?

Because He created us and without Him we cannot find our place in life. There's a common phrase used in Christianity that says, ''there's a God-shaped hole in every one us that only God can fill.'' Until we find God, we cannot find the wholeness we are longing for. David wrote in Psalm 62 ''Truly my soul finds rest in God.'' Until we find our rest in the Lord, we will be restless looking for ways to fill the God-shaped hole in our hearts.

Because He is big enough and strong enough to take good care of us. We need not be afraid for the Lord our God is with us.

Because when the enemy comes in like a flood, God will raise up a standard against him. He will fight for us.

His perfect love for us cast out all fear
