Colossians 2:1-7

If someone were to ask you to suggest the most important qualities a pastor can possess, you might say intelligence, education, leadership ability, boldness, holiness, or speaking ability. Although all those are necessary, maybe the most necessary ingredient in the life of any minister of Jesus Christ is love for the church. No one can truly serve God in the church without that motivation.

Paul showed his deep love for the church in Colossians 2:1-7. He shows his love through his genuine concern and care for their spiritual well being. His desire was for God's people to remember Jesus' proper place and live according to His teachings. Here in this text he showed them what it meant to live Life With Jesus. READ TEXT

A man by the name of Reuben Klamer developed a game that most of you are familiar with. It debuted in 1960 at the American International Toy Fair in Milton Bradley's showroom, had the endorsement of one of televisions most famous hosts, Art Linkletter, and sold more than 50 million copies. It's called The Game of LIFE. In the game of LIFE, that many of us have played, the rules imply that life is all about the accumulation of money, possessions, and stuff. In fact, the rules actually say that the object of the game is to ''collect money and LIFE tiles and have the highest dollar amount at the end of game.'' My boys played this game recently with some friends and there were a few things they didn't like. First of all, they had to get married. They weren't cool with that…girls are gross. Secondly, one of them had to drive a pink car. Apparently he wasn't interested in being a Mary Kay salesman. And thirdly, both of them had multiple sets of twins. It ended up that in the game they actually had more kids than we do in real life…which is not easy to do!*
