Romans 8:11

We are starting a new sermon series called VICTORY IN JESUS. When we think of victory we think of winning a game or reaching a goal or defeating an enemy. With what we have been seeing in the news lately especially with two professional football players - one caught on camera literally knocking out his girlfriend in an elevator and the other beating his child with a switch - you can have victory on the ball field but that doesn't mean you have it at home. God wants us to be victorious in every area of our lives, so over the next several weeks, I will be bringing to you messages that expose the enemy and encourage you to see and get a hold of the victories that Christ has already won for you.

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you! Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Jesus said, I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

John 15:26 ''But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

The Holy Spirit is the 3rd Person of the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. He is a Person who indwells the believer and He empowers the believer. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.''
