I want you to take your Bible this morning and turn to 2 Timothy Chapter 3. We are going to look at the first nine verses and then some other passages. If you have a bulletin, right inside your bulletin you’ll find this page and on that page you’ll find the scripture and also some blanks for you to fill in, many blanks for you to fill in today.
You’re gong to have to write pretty rapidly and so get your pen and be ready to go as we begin a brand—new series of messages entitled, “The Terminal Generation”.
If you would like to invite someone to come specially to church, this would be a good time to do it because I’m going to be talking about the terminal generation, what the Bible says the world will be like when Jesus comes again.
I’ll tell you it is just as though you’ve taken your newspaper this morning and you looked in the Bible and you read the exact same thing and it is just as though you turned on the television newscast, CNN, and you were listening not to a newscast but what the Bible says that the last days are going to be like.
This new series on prophecy is a series that I hope will encourage us to the urgency of the hour in which we live. In 2 Timothy 3 Verse 1 Paul says, “THIS KNOW ALSO, THAT IN THE LAST DAYS PERILOUS TIMES SHALL COME.
FOR MEN SHALL BE LOVERS OF THEIR OWN SELVES, COVETOUS, BOASTERS, PROUD, BLASPHEMERS, DISOBEDIENT TO PARENTS, UNTHANKFUL, UNHOLY, WITHOUT NATURAL AFFECTION, TRUCEBREAKERS, FALSE ACCUSERS, INCONTINENT, FIERCE, DESPISERS OF THOSE THAT ARE GOOD,
TRAITORS, HEADY, HIGHMINDED, LOVERS OF PLEASURES MORE THAN LOVERS OF GOD; HAVING A FORM OF GODLINESS, BUT DENYING THE POWER THEREOF: FROM SUCH TURN AWAY.
FOR OF THIS SORT ARE THEY WHICH CREEP INTO HOUSES, AND LEAD CAPTIVE SILLY WOMEN LADEN WITH SINS, LED AWAY WITH DIVERS LUSTS, EVER LEARNING, A ...
