What a great message we heard last week from Steve Lambert on the devil being a ''defeated foe''.

We learned that the devil has been hurled down to the earth. He is a defeated foe through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. He prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Two observations: 1) Roar, 2) ''May''

Lucifer lost his place in heaven and is now subject to the earth.

Isaiah 14:12 ''How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!

His deception is what caused man to sin and become a slave to it, but Christ's redemption is what causes man to live above the pull of sin.

Luke 10:17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, ''Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.'' 18 And He said to them, ''I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.''

I am a child of God
I am loved with an everlasting love
I am the apple of His eye,
I am fearfully and wonderfully made,
I am the righteousness of God in Him,
I am saved by grace through faith
I am forgiven
I am holy, righteous, pure and sanctified through the blood that He shed for me ...
