2 Corinthians 9:6-11
I want you to take God's word and turn to Second Corinthians Chapter 9. And I want to talk about overcoming poverty, overcoming spiritual poverty, material poverty, emotional poverty, overcoming poverty and how to do it. God has a way.
Three boys were talking about their fathers. They were bragging about their fathers and how they made money. One boy said, "My daddy sells cars. All he has to do is just sit there in his office until somebody comes by and wants a car. He sells him a car and he makes two hundred dollars." He said, "That's all there is to it."
His friend said, "Well, you think that something." He said, "My daddy's a lawyer and all he has to do is sit in his office until somebody comes and he gives them advice and charges him five hundred dollars. That's all he has to do just for giving advice."
The third little boy was the preacher's son. Not to be outdone he said, "Well, on Sunday morning" he said, "my daddy preaches. He said they take up the offering." He said, "It takes eight men to carry the money out of the auditorium."
I want to tell you now that the preacher doesn't get all the offering but God has a way to overcome poverty.
In Second Corinthians Chapter 9 beginning in Verse 6, " BUT THIS I SAY, HE WHICH SOWETH SPARINGLY SHALL REAP ALSO SPARINGLY; AND HE WHICH SOWETH BOUNTIFULLY SHALL REAP ALSO BOUNTIFULLY.
EVERY MAN ACCORDING AS HE PURPOSETH IN HIS HEART, SO LET HIM GIVE; NOT GRUDGINGLY, OR OF NECESSITY: FOR GOD LOVETH A CHEERFUL GIVER. AND GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE ALL GRACE ABOUND TOWARD YOU;
THAT YE, ALWAYS HAVING ALL SUFFICIENCY IN ALL THINGS, MAY ABOUND TO EVERY GOOD WORK: AS IT IS WRITTEN, HE HATH DISPERSED ABROAD; HE HATH GIVEN TO THE POOR: HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS REMAINETH FOR EVER.
NOW HE THAT MINISTERETH SEED TO THE SOWER BOTH MINISTER BREAD FOR YOUR FOOD, AND MULTIPLY YOUR SEED SOWN, AND INCREASE THE FRUITS OF YOUR RIG ...
