Autobiographical passages of Scripture are particularly helpful as they show how God has worked in the lives of ordinary people and, therefore, may reasonably be expected to work in similar ways today. David speaks about…

A. An experience of deliverance from fear. v. 4

B. An experience of salvation from trouble. v. 6

II. Some Passionate Exhortations.

A. O magnify the Lord (An exhortation to reality of worship). v. 3

B. O taste and see (An exhortation to specific experimentation). v. 8

C. O fear the Lord (An exhortation to practical commitment). v. 9

III. Some Positive Intentions.

Part 14: The Fountain of Life
Series: Psalms
Stuart Briscoe
Psalm 36

The Psalmist spoke of God in many ways. To him, He appeared in many forms meeting many needs. In this Psalm He is the FOUNTAIN, a very wonderful term to describe the totally indispensable nature of His being to man.

A. The initial source.
1. Of physical life. Genesis 1:26-28

2. Of spiritual life. John 1:3-4

3. Of eternal life. John 10:28

B. The continual resource.

Note: "continue" v. 10; "preserve" v. 6

1. His mercifulness: vast as the heavens. v. 5a

2. His faithfulness: high as the clouds. v. 5b
