Behind every human action lies a motivation. Christian motivation is of great interest to us-but what is it? And how does it work? Paul gives us some helpful insights into his own motivation with particular regard to the grace of God.

I. The Grace of God-A Divine Attitude.
A. Paul's testimony.
1. By the grace of God I am what I am.

2. I am an apostle.

3. I am an "abortion."

4. Grace is God taking an abortion and making him an apostle.

B. Our experience.
1. We are moral failures.

2. God is absolutely just.

3. We are incapable of changing ourselves of God.

4. God is free to deal with us as He chooses.

5. He has chosen to mingle justice with mercy and grace.
a. Justice gives me what I deserve.


Part 2: The Servant Spirit

Jesus said that He had not come to be served but to serve. His followers have been commanded to emulate His example. But developing a servant spirit does not come naturally.

a. A sense of privilege. Acts 27:23
