The Leader Who Builds the Church
Frank Damazio

Church done God's way raises the heartbeat and engages the whole person in a dynamic and meaningful experience that shapes all of life. This is the church we are building together, a church that is thriving and alive, changing culture, growing in grace and power, and is resilient and tough, and capable of remarkable recovery. The church is worth giving your life to build and make great.

Session 1:
Introduction: The leader who builds the church is working with Christ, the true builder, and with all those who partner with Christ in this great task of church building. Matthew 16:18-19 says, "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." This is our foundational, biblical leadership starting point. We are committed church builders. The vision to build the church and the commitment to lead and equip those who will build Christ's church in this local metro area and beyond is the purpose of the Lead track. We seek to equip you to lead our church into the fulfilling of its destiny.

I. The Leader Who Builds Christ's Church is First Committed to Christ

A. The Leader as a Disciple
Matthew 7:13-14; Luke 13:23-24

1. A fully devoted disciple is becoming a complete and fully devoted follower of Christ, submitting to His lordship and imitating Him in every thought, word, and deed.

2. A disciple undergoes a changed lifestyle, manifested through different values, goals, perspectives, and relationships.

3. A disciple is a follower of Christ, one who possesses a resolve to never turn back and is totally committed to Christ, fully devoted.
