The Great Discovery

Introduction: Four things make me believe this is a real, living God who I can know personally. The first is creation - the intelligent design of the earth and the universe. Second is that the Bible is a supernatural book that is read and accepted as the word of God by millions. It has 28 specific prophecies about Jesus, the Savior of the world, that were fulfilled in His life and death. Third is the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Fourth, the changed lives and amazing miracles of people finding Jesus, resulting in a changed life. Jesus makes broken things whole. Jesus changes lives. The transformation of a life is still the most amazing thing to behold.

I Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures…

A little boy was pestering his father who was desperately trying to get office work done. The Father thought he could distract his son by giving him a piece of paper, a pencil, and telling him to draw a dog. Two minutes later, his son came back with the picture of a dog. The father then asked the boy to draw an elephant. Same thing. Two minutes later, it was done. The dad asked him to draw a lion, a frog, a dinosaur - all 2-minute projects for this little boy who was being a nuisance. Finally, the father had an ingenious thought. "Okay son, draw a picture of God," believing he had outwitted the boy. But sure enough, the boy came back two minutes later with a picture of God." The dad was astonished, saying, "No one knows what God looks like," to which the little boy responded, "Well, they will now!"
