Colossians 3:1-2

I'm excited about this new series that we are calling simply, "UP." That one little word expresses our conviction and belief about what God wants us to join him in at this season of life. We are praying and planning for everything we do to be UP. Our attitude is UP - our anticipation is UP - our excitement is UP - and we are going places for God! It is a time when we are going to re-visit the core reasons that Spring Hills exists.

I am more excited at this moment than at any other time that I have served as your pastor. I am so proud of the way you have handled all the transitions of the past, almost, three years. God has blessed us, kept us together, and done some amazing things in our midst. I said, a few weeks ago at our celebration evening, that those of us who are a part of Spring Hills are privileged to be a part of a miracle of God's grace. And the miracle-working power of God has positioned us this fall to go places where we have not been and climb to heights that we have not gone. We have taken some REAL steps of faith in the last few weeks such as calling a full-time student pastor.

I am asking you to do several things between now and the end of October: 1) I am asking you to be present and come with a receptive heart because I am expecting God to do a wonderful new work IN us. 2) I am going to ask you to pray with me that the Holy Spirit would be freed to work among us producing real and lasting change IN us. I am praying that God will raise up some KEY INTERCESSORS. 3) I am asking you to MAKE UP our budget deficit from the summer NOW, not wait until December as we usually do. October 16-17 is going to be MAKE UP weekend and we want to make up this deficit ON or BEFORE that time. Our current budget giving is almost $5,000 per week below what we gave in January through May of this year. September and October are critical times when we need to UP our ministry, not scale b ...
