1. What it Means to Have Faith
Heb 11:1 "Now faith is Present tense!
"the substance of things hoped for..."A word from God
"...the evidence of things not seen." Evidenced by my actions!
Focused on what I See with my spiritual eyes!
What it means to have faith is that my current beliefs must be firmly rooted in God and built upon what He says about the situation to trust Him enough to act accordingly!

2. The Cost of Real Faith
Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks

O. Obey
S. Sacrifice
E. Expect

3. The Key to Pleasing God
Believe that He is!
Believe that He is personal and knowable!
Believe that He wants to reward those that earnestly seek Him!

Now Today: Dealing with Doubt

Heb 11:17-19
17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son,
18 even though God had said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."
19 Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he
did receive Isaac back from death. (NIV)

Whenever you take a step of faith – doubt is present!
Things always look bad and become more difficult when you take a step of faith.
Sometimes the difficulties are enough to make you doubt your original decision.
You wonder whether you really heard from God or if it was just your own imagination.
No one wants to fail or look foolish!
But with faith there will always come tests!
The tests will always cause you to question your previous decisions!
This is when faith really matures!
Faith germinates with a word from God!
Faith operates with explicit obedience!
