How could you want anything more than to be happy, to be healthy and to be holy? I hope that you desire all three. We are talking about how to make life rich.

In I Timothy, chapter 4:7 it says, "Take the time and the trouble to keep yourself spiritually fit." Now, he's contrasting that with physical fitness.

In the next verse he says, "Spiritual exercise will help you, not only in this life, but in the next life too."

As we begin this new year, one of the things that we want to know is how to stay happy, healthy and holy. It has to do with the kind of habits that we develop.

I read some excerpts from am interesting book entitled "The Really Important Habits Of The American People." I want to read some of these to you to sort of compare as I take a survey this morning of the Church at Quail Creek and compare you with the national averages and see if you are odd or different or if you are just about average.

The first one is this. When you make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which do you put on the bread first, the peanut butter or the jelly? How many put the peanut butter on first? Raise your hands. Alright, wonderful. How many put the jelly on first? Well, I'm glad to see that we are all just about normal. Ninety-six percent of Americans put the peanut butter on first. Four percent put the jelly on first. So you can look at that two ways. If you are in the four percent you can say, "Hey, I don't conform. I don't have to conform to the crowd, I'm different and I take a stand. You can look at it that way.

You don't have to raise your hand on all of these because on some of them you might be tempted not to give an accurate answer. I don't want say that you would lie to me.
