We're thinking this morning about Our Final Destination! You can know what happens to you one minute after you physically die! It is true! You can know today where you will be tomorrow and something else .. you can know what you will be doing!
Have you ever wondered what happens once you arrive in Heaven? I read about a man who started running to improve his health and to extend his life.
Being a religious man .. he wondered about the running opportunities in heaven. So, he went to his pastor and asked him if there would be any running opportunities in heaven. The pastor said, "I'll tell you what I'll do, I'll spent a few days praying about it and I'll get back with you in two days."
So .. the two days passed and the inquirer returned. The pastor said, "I've got goods news and bad news. The good news is that everyone in heaven runs as often and as far as they want. The bad news is that they have scheduled you for a marathon next Saturday."
Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people for Jesus said in John 14.2, "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you; I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
And you need to know today that heaven is a real place! It is not a figment of the imagination. It is not something man has dreamed up. It is an actual, literal place prepared for literal people! And God wants you there!
Now somebody says, "Pastor, I'm not so sure God wants me in Heaven! Not after all that I've done!" I want you to listen to 2 Peter 3.9, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
