We are continuing our summer series of messages under the heading: Our Final Destination! What happens sixty seconds after you die? Can a person know now what will happen to them later when life as they know it comes to a screeching halt? Do we all have the same final destination? Are we all headed to heaven?
Years ago I met a man who told me that he wasn't going to die. He was in death denial. And guess where we were when he told me that? In a graveyard! I've got news for you .. unless the Lord Jesus Christ returns for His church during your life time and you are a part of His church through a salvation experience ... you are going to physically die! Your soul/spirit will be separated from your body!
When Irish writer George Bernard Shaw completed a detailed study of the causes of death .. he came to a firm conclusion: one out of one dies!
Benjamin Franklin used to say that only two things in this life are certain: death and taxes. Now though his phrase became famous ... Ben was half right! Taxes can be legally avoided and illegally evaded! But death is the most certain fact of life!
