Confidence verses intimidation
Christians should stand up for their beliefs and not be intimidated by critics, NFL star Reggie White told a gathering of conservative legislators and activists May 18. "I'm tired of the devil pushing us around. God is trying to give people some guts to speak out on truth," White said at a Washington, D.C., luncheon. The group praised the Green Bay Packers defensive lineman. "You are a credit to sports at a time when many 'stars' set the wrong example," Sen. John Ashcroft (R-Mo.) wrote in a letter that was read to the gathering. --May 19, 1998

9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith...(NIV)

He weakens you through intimidation.

He wears you down to surrender.

It's an emboldened confidence that says, "there are more than enough resources to get this job done! The provisions are great, the possibilities are endless, the manpower is just waiting to be asked--so let's go for it!!" I'm afraid that far too many never fully realize the effectiveness God has for them primarily because...they're not quite sure God is equal to the task There's not enough money to go around. Not enough manpower to do the job.

The enemy's tactics have not changed from days of old!
John in his epistle writes three times about having a confidence in God!

God's desire is that you will have confidence!
