The Cleansing of a Leper

I have some wonderful news for you this morning: You can be liberated from the bondage of sin! Sin no longer has to dominate you! Sin no longer has to defeat you! Sin no longer has to destroy you!

That's what a man named Naaman experienced and what Naaman experienced so long ago .. can happen in your life too.

We find Naaman's story in the Old Testament book of 2nd Kings chapter 5. Here is a man who thought he could know God on his own terms. But he found out that there is only one way to know God and that's on His terms!

Friend .. you'll either come to know God on His terms .. or you won't come to know God! You'll either be set free from sin on God's terms .. or you won't be set free from sin! You'll either go to Heaven on God's terms .. or you won't go to Heaven!

Well .. that's what Naaman learned and Naaman is in heaven today because he obeyed the Word of God.

Now it's from 2 Kings 5 beginning in verse 1 ... that we find the account of ...
"The Cleansing of a Leper"
2 Kings 5.1-14

What an incredible story! Now I can hear some skeptic thinking, "That couldn't have really happened! I mean .. a man dipping in the river seven times and being cured of leprosy. You've got to be kidding! Somebody made that up."

Well .. let me ask you a question. Do you believe that Jesus was the Son of God? Do you believe that Jesus never told a lie? Then I want you to listen what Jesus Christ .. God in the flesh .. had to say about this man Naaman!

Luke 4.27, "And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian." Now don't you think that if the healing of Naaman was somehow falsified .. that Jesus would have set the record straight? Sure He would! But Jesus said that "in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them were cleansed (speaking of lepers) except Naaman the Syrian ...
