Jeremiah 49:13-14

This morning we are talking about "Armageddon: Cosmic Battle of the Ages." I trust you have read Dr. LaHaye's novel on Armageddon. If you have not, you will want to read that it is a blessing. And what a tremendous dramatic description it is of how it may be for those who are believers who do not take the mark of the beast who live during the days of the tribulation period after the church is gone from the earth. You know, so many people believe that when Jesus comes for the church that will be the end of the world. But the Bible doesn't teach that. In fact the scripture teaches us that will only be the end of the church age that God will then begin to do His final work in dealing with Israel. He will fulfill His final promises to the nation of Israel during those last seven years. They will go through their final tribulation. But the end of their tribulation will be for their salvation and the scripture will be fulfilled that says all Israel will be saved. That Israel will recognize her true Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, the crucified, the slain, the resurrected Christ. And one of the things that happens during that seven-year period of time in future history the war of Armageddon. It happens during the last 3 1/2 year period of the 7-year period called the tribulation.
We have been talking about that war of Armageddon and the Bible speaks of it in many different places in the Old Testament prophets as well as in the book of Revelation. And we have looked at many passages of scripture. And in the last three weeks we tried to break down the war of Armageddon and reveal how it is a series of battles, not just one battle of Armageddon but also a series of battles, a series of wars that take place during the end time.
