Please stand with me in reverence to the word of God in
Genesis chapter 37. I will be reading from the New American
Standard Translation. Look with me to the scripture. "Now
Jacob lived in tne land where his fatner had sojourned, the
land of Canaan. These are the records of the generations of
Jacob. Joseph, when 17 years of age, was pasturing the
flock with his brothers while he was still a youth along
with the sons of Bilha and the sons of Zilpa, his father's
wives. And Joseph brought back a bad report to their
father. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons
because he was the son of his old age and he made him a very
colored tunic. And his brothers saw that their father loved
him more than all his brothers, and so they hated him and
could not speak to him on friendly terms. Then Joseph had a
dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him
even more."
Would you look with me to verse number 11 of chapter 37 of
Genesis. "And his brothers were jealous of him, but his
father kept the same in mind." Would you bow with me today
as we pray? Father, may the word that is on these pages
today come alive in our lives. For it is in the name of
Jesus that we ask it. Amen.
