We praise the Lord for that word and testimony in song
today. If you have your Bibles, will you look with me to two
passages of scripture today. One in the Old Testament
coming from the 22nd chapter of the Book of Proverbs, and
the second from the 6th chapter of the Book of Luke.
Proverbs chapter 22, and then Luke chapter 6. And would you
please stand with me in reverence to the word of God, as you
look with me to the scripture. I will be reading from the
New American Standard Translation today, and if you would
follow me in the word of God.
Proverbs chapter 22, reading verse 7. "The rich rules over
the poor and the borrower becomes the lender's slave." And
then in the 6th chapter of the Book of Luke. Luke chapter
6, verse number 38: "Jesus was recorded as saying, 'Give
and it will be given to you. Good measure, press down.
Shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap.
For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you
in return'."
Will you please join me in these moments of prayer together?
It is my prayer, dear spirit of God, that you would bring
alive the enriching word of God today. Bathe every word we
say in the love of Christ. Anoint everything we share by
the Holy Spirit. But we pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
