PRAISES AND THANKSGIVINGS
"HOW DO I LOVE THEE"'
There is a famous poem that begins:
"How do I love thee,
Let me count the ways...
In very endearing terms, the author attests how his "love" has engulfed
his entire being. Last week we talked about having a love such as
this for God: To love Him with every fibre of our being. We agreed
that knowing and nurturing this kind of love would take much time
with the Master. Much time in prayer.
We discussed how loving God in the way He desires would manifest
itself in our prayer life:
Deepening our desire to pray more and more
Motivating our devotion to keep our hearts clean
Commiting us to pray within the guidelines of scripture
We closed our lesson with a brief mention of praying with "An Attitude
of Gratitude" and with "Praise"1.
