"The Searchlight of God"
1 John 1:5-7

If you have your Bible this morning, please take it and turn with me to the book of I John.
Chapter one, the first chapter in the epistle of I John. We are in our series of messages entitled
"Love and Fellowship in the Family of God." Today we are in the second message in this series.
I John 1:5-7. In reverence to the Word would you please stand with me as I read from
God's Word. I will be reading from the New American Standard translation. The Bible says:
"And this is the message that we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light,
and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk
in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in
the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all
Will you pray with me, please? Father, it is with a pure heart today that we want to see
You manifested here Defore your people. Lord, we want to see Your Word today become more
than just writing on a page. May they become loving in each of our hearts. Only the Spirit can
impart such awakenings. So we ask and believe and pray and commit ourselves that Your Spirit
might bring an awakening into each of our lives. We trust You for this and believe that You are
going to do it because of Jesus in Whose Name we pray. Amen.
In the daylight there is never a need for a flashlight.- Eeclly when light reveals that
which you are looking for. A flashlight is most effective when darkness is near or when the
subject that you are looking for is found in darkness. For darkness conceals but it is light that
reveals that which is concealed. Light comes and light reveals those things that we might be
looking for.
At our house I am known as the one who searches and never finds. My wife asks me to
