"Sin in the Life of a Carnal Christian"
I John 1:8-10

Has anything great happened to you this past week? Amen. I mean
something so exciting that you just couldn't wait to share it.
You know, last night I got to go see my first Hog basketball game.
I came into the house afterwards, Mark and I went, and I figured if I
couldn't persuade him through a University of Arkansas basketball, I
couldn't persuade him. I will tell you, I came into the house and I just
wanted to say, "Man, Jeana, we beat the number six team in the nation."
As soon as I walked in she said, "Yeh, I know we won."
I never will forget when my little boy Joshua was born at 5:30
in the morning. I was the only one there besides my wife. our family
was all way away. There were a few doctors and nurses there, by the way.
As we were there in that situation in the hospital there, my wife had
been in labor all night long. They finally had to do a
to give us our first newborn little boy. Boy, how exciting. I mean I
was so fired up I talked to the walls. Let me tell you, there are not
a whole lot of folks in a waiting room at 5:30 in the morning. I mean
I run up the phone bill to call mom and dad and even the in-laws. Man,
a son has been born. It was an exciting event.
Let me tell you today, folks, I have some of the greatest news I
have ever shared with you from one of the greatest verses in all of the
Bible for the Spirit-controlled Christian. The word of God says these
words in I John 1:8,9,10.
"If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and
the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteous-
ness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His
word is not in us.'
When we give our lives to Christ the person of the Holy Spirit
