Shall we understand that in the Church of Christ you cannot balance a--wrong against a right and say that the one compensates for the other, or that one may grow up unnoticed, or remain because the other is there. We have to do with One who is filled with a passion for perfection. So while He is merciful on one side, He is unyielding on the other.

The argument might well have been: We have declared our loyalty to Christ by refusing the national ritual. That is beyond question therefore. Now, the New American Standard translation. The Bible says: ''And this is the message that we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Will you pray with me, pleaser Father, it is with a pure heart today that we want to see You manifested here before your people. Lord, we want to see Your Word today become more than just writing on a page. May they become loving in each of our heart. Only the Spirit can impart such awakenings. So we ask and believe and pray and commit ourselves that Your Spirit might bring an awakening into each of our lives. We trust You for this and believe that You are going to do it because of Jesus in Whose Name we pray. Amen.

In the daylight there is never a need for a flashlight. Especially when light reveals that which you are looking for. A flashlight is most effective when darkness is near or when the subject that you are looking for is found in darkness. For darkness conceals but it is light that reveals that which is concealed. Light comes and light reveals those things that we might be looking for.
