II Timothy 3:1-7
For our scripture tonight, I hope you'll open your Bibles with me, to
Ephesians chapter number two.
Verse 1 through 3
"And you hath He quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins.
[verse 2] Wherein in time past, ye walked according to the
course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the
air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
[verse 3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times
past in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the
flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath,
even as others." [KJV]
Let's pray together.
Father, we thank You for Your power in this service, in our lives
and we're specials nights, thank You, thank You for the power to
change the way we are, the way we do business with Thee. The way
we have our homes. The way we carry out discipline in our
family. Lord, speak to us in a very basic, simple, practical
way. Let me get out of the way, so that Thy word and Thy truth,
might not only be heard, but may it be received and understood
and incorporated into our lifestyles. For we make this prayer
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
I'm glad we have a small group here, tonight, in the middle of this
monsoon. So we can talk together, a little bit, rather than have any
preachments. And I believe that God has brought out in this tornado-like
weather, exactly those that He needs to have present.
Now, let me say something, up front. If I make anybody mad in what I say,
don't try to appease them and explain it away. Because I believe when
preaching takes place, the Holy Spirit many times works and brings
conviction on the hearts of people and it's going to take some parents,
they're going to have to get mad, in order to change themselves by the
power of God, and change the way they live with their family; their wife,
their husband, their child ...
