Luke 15

... read this morning Verses 17 following:

"And when he came to himself he said, 'How many hired

servants of my father's have bread enough to spare, and

I perish with hunger. I will arise and go to my father

and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against

heaven and before thee and am no more worthy to be

called thy son. Make me as one of thy hired servants'."

Let's pray together. "Father, we open Thy word and always it quickens

our spirits and stimulates our minds and our hearts. How easy it is to

get calloused and cold. How easy for some of us to be so caught up in

the affairs of living in the pressures and the strife and the decisions

of the world in which we live that we no longer hear the sound of the

trumpets in the morning, yea, we no longer hear the still small voice

that speaks encouragement and love and forgiveness. Lord, we're here to

do business with You. Give to each of us a sense of concentration that

we may totally center upon Thee and upon Thy word for this time. Father,

You speak. Let me get out of the way so that Thy word and Thy holy and

divine message might not only be heard, but may it be received and under-

stood and incorporated into our living. For we make this prayer in the

strong, holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord. Amen."
