The Foundation of Faith
David Cawston
2 Peter 1:1-5

Introduction: It is evident in our scripture reading today that the foundation of the Christian Life is faith.

Hebrews 11:6
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (NIV)

Faith is the absolute foundation of the Christian Life!

Rom 4:1-3
1 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?
2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.
3 For what does the Scripture say? ''Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.'' (NKJ)

Faith is exciting!
Faith is finding your potential in God!
God didn't plan failures.
But your last failure could be the foundation of your success.
Success never happens without failures!

A life without faith is a life that is wasted and lost.

Quote by Dr. Kenneth Hilderbrand ''The Mundane Man''
''The Mundane man as I view it is the man who believes only what he sees, only what is immediate, only what he can put his hands on. He may be a truck driver, a banker, a college president, a clerk or a junk dealer-his occupation doesn't matter. The mundane man lacks depth. He lacks vision. The poorest of all men is not the one without a nickel to his name. He is the fellow without a dream. He resembles a great ship made for the mighty ocean but trying to navigate in a millpond. He has no far port to reach, no lifting horizon, no precious cargo to carry. His hours are absorbed in routine and petty tyrannies. Small wonder if he gets dissatisfied, quarrelsome and fed up. One of life's greatest tragedies is a person with a 10-by-12 capacity and a 2-by-4 soul.''

God wants you to be a person of faith and find your potential.
He has planed a great life for you.
