Who Matters to God?
How would you answer the question who matters to God?
In church we'd say EVERYONE!
DO THOSE WHO MATTER TO GOD MATTER TO US?
Can you relate to this true confession from Dallas Willard, a Christian who is a Professor of Philosophy at USC. (USE STORY OF DALLAS WILLARD)
If we say that EVERYONE matters to God, we are challenged to consider our behavior and attitudes to see if we really believe that everyone matters to God.
Have you noticed that it is easy to become really narrow in your view about who might respond to God and who we can really reach? I believe we write off people as unresponsive yet we have never given them a chance! We often base that on outward or cultural appearances.

THIS ONE I KNOW HOW MUCH IT MATTERS TO LUKE!
Have you found that it is easy to develop a built-in resistance or prejudice to certain people coming to Christ possibly because they may not fit into the nice little box we have been raised with or they do not fit with our church environment we are comfortable with?
Could it be that when we really think about it, we'd have to admit that there are a lot of "types" of people that we might brush off as unreachable or even undesirable as candidates to become a CXN?
These people may have a habit, personality style, a certain way about them or a reputation that leads us to the false assumption that they are not interested or that they could never change.
There may be others we just plain don't notice or consider because we are distanced from them by differing social backgrounds, culture or other man-made barriers.
