What does it mean to be normal? What does it mean to be average? Well, let me give you some interesting stats.

Did you know that the average blood pressure is 130/84? Some of you are below average, some of you are above average. Did you also know that the average major league batting average is 280? Some of us will never have a chance to be average in that area, but in a surprising humorous new book by Tom Heymann entitled, IN AN AVERAGE LIFETIME he unfolds some of the most curious facts for Americans. Do you realize that during an average American lifetime the average American will earn over $1.2 million; however, he'll pay $178,000 in taxes. Maybe you feel like you're above average in the latter and way below average in the former. During their average lifetime, Americans will drive 413,000 miles and waste 9 months sitting in traffic. Some of you are listening to me thinking, "I guess I'm getting ready to die because I've already spent that much time in traffic and I've driven over that in miles!" Also, another curious fact that I've found was that the average American will spend 49 hours seeing doctors during his lifetime and 64 hours waiting to see them. When it comes to TV during a lifetime, we'll spend 13 years and 4 months watching television; and the average American, get this, will change channels over 325,000 times, some of you are way above average in that area. We will spend in our lifetime, an average American will, 5 years waiting in line; spend 3 years in meetings, 1 year looking for misplaced items. On an average, we'll celebrate 74 birthdays, and receive 333 birthday presents, with an additional 2,322 greeting cards and 1/4 of those (580) will be birthday cards.
