THE CHILDREN OF GOD'S CHILDREN

Here in one simple little verse of Scripture God gives His
command to Christian parents who have the responsibility of bringing up
their boys and girls to love the Lord Jesus Christ and live for the
Saviour. Children are a great blessing in a home. Many of you can
remember the time when God first brought that little one into your
family. You ha-e, since that t-me, reflected upon it many time as have
I, and I'm sure you agree with me that one of God's greatest blessings
in life is the gift of children.
Psalm 127:3 and following: "Lo, children are an heritage of the
Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows are in the
heart of a mighty man so are the children of thy youth. Happy is the
man tht hath his quiver full of them. They shall not be ashamed but they
shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
Psalm 128:3 - "Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides
of thine house. Thy children like olive plants round about the table."
If you have more than one child (or did) you may remember the
time when all of the family was gathered together. I have many times
looked at my children gathered around the table and thought about this
statement here - "thy children like olive plants round about the
table." What a joyful, happy, wonderful time it is when God gives
children to a home.
I remember when our first child was born. I had determined I was
going to be the world's greatest father. So, when it came time to bring
Janet and Joy back from the hospital, it was a hot day in November, and
I had three or four blankets I was going to make sure she didn't get
cold. I went to the hospital with my blankets, I had my car pulled up
to pick up Janet and the baby. I was so proud. I was such a wonderful
father already just four or five days into my new experience. So, I got
the baby, had the precious thing in my arm and got to the car and got
the baby home. I'm not sur ...
