2 Corinthians 3:17-18
We ended last week's message in talking about going to that higher place where we ascend to where Christ is, that we receive His glory. The story was about Moses ascending Mt Sinai and dwelling there with God 40 days and 40 nights (this speaks of consecrated time with God - ''I am here God only for You. I have nowhere else to be right now. I am here to commune with You, talk to You and have You speak to me.'' Moses was there on the mountain receiving from the Lord for the children of Israel and when he came down, he had to put a veil over his face because of the brightness of the glory of the Lord. The children of Israel who turned away from God could not look at the brightness of the glory of God on Moses.
We too when we spend time with God in ascending to where He is will come away with the glory of God shining on our faces.
Here was the scripture that we read: 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
You might say to me, ''Pastor Lenny, are you expecting that we are supposed to just stay in the glory zone 24/7? No I am not suggesting that. But the more time you spend with God in that place, the longer lasting will the light be. It is like re-charging your batteries.
We need to plug in and really receive His power!
But there is another key I want to give you today. It is found in Luke chapter 11:34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light.
