Now we’ve been studying a series called, “Seven Startling Secrets of the Second Coming of Christ”. You remember that we have had three lessons in this series and if you’ll turn to Matthew Chapter 24, we’re going to look at verses 21 and 22.
And today we’re going to talk about the secret of the great tribulation. We’ve examined some signs of Christ’s coming that we can see today, then you’ll remember that we studied the secret of the rapture of the church and we noted the sounds of His coming and we noted the sights at His coming.
The voice of the archangel, the trump of God, the victorious shout of Christ when He comes in the air. We studied how the dead in Christ are going to be raised. There’s going to be a resurrection called in the word of God the first resurrection. Then remember that the living believers will be taken up to be with the Lord in the air.
Then we studied last week what will happen after the believers rise to meet the Lord in the air and if you’ll recall we studied the fact that there in the air we’ll have a glorious meeting with Christ, we’ll go to the judgment seat of the Lord and there we will be rewarded for our Christian service.
I mentioned last week five crowns the Bible gives as reward for the children of God and then from the judgment seat of Christ we learned that we will proceed to the marriage supper of the lamb at which time we will celebrate the victory of the groom, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the bride, the church, will be united with the groom.
Now while this is taking place in the air, while we are at the judgment seat of Christ and while we go to the marriage supper of the lamb, what’s going to happen on the earth? That’s what we want to study today. Jesus is referring to this sequence of events in Matthew 24 and Verse 21.
