I want you to refer to your outline, in Matthew 24:21-22 and then we are going to go to Revelation Chapter 13. First of all, let’s be reminded that we are studying the Secret of the Great Tribulation.
We have seen what’s going to happen when Christ comes in the air, then we’ve seen what’s going to happen after the believers are raised from the dead and after we are raptured to be with the Lord in the air, we’re going to move to the judgment seat of Christ and then to the marriage supper of the lamb.
And then we have seen what’s going to happen on earth after Christ has come. The earth is going to continue, there’s going to be a time the Bible calls the Great Tribulation.
Jesus refers to this in Matthew 24. We began this particular study of the great tribulation last Sunday and we want to conclude it today. And Jesus said this about this period of time.
After Jesus has come for the church and after we are with the Lord in the air, He says, “FOR THEN THERE WILL BE GREAT TRIBULATION, SUCH AS HAS NOT BEEN SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD UNTIL THIS TIME, NO, NOR EVER SHALL BE.
AND UNLESS THOSE DAYS WERE SHORTENED, NO FLESH WOULD BE SAVED; BUT FOR THE ELECT’S SAKE THOSE DAYS WILL BE SHORTENED. FOR THEN THERE SHALL BE GREAT TRIBULATION.”
Now if you will turn to Revelation 13 we’re going to see one of the important features of this time period called the Great Tribulation. Last week we studied the fact that it is going to be a time of upheaval upon the earth and we studied some of the characteristics that are going to happen during the Great Tribulation time.
We came to the point where I was ready to introduce you to the figure who is going to be the central figure in this world during the Great Tribulation time. He is called in the scripture the antichrist.
