Let’s go to the Lord in prayer right now and then we are going to go to Revelation Chapter20 and talk about the Secret of the Millennium. Although we know that the great truth of the millennium is a secret to many people because they have not been taught the glorious fact that Jesus is going to rule and reign upon this earth.
Father we just pray as we study you’ll open our hearts and minds. Give us something today that will give us hope, that will give us direction and strength and power for our daily lives. We’ll be careful to give you praise in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Now if you will take your Bible please and turn to Revelation 20, we want to begin by reading the first ten verses of this particular chapter as we talk about the Secret of the Millennium.
The word millennium is not used in the Bible but the meaning of the millennium is given in this passage. The word millennium simply means a thousand years just as a ten year period of time is called a decade a millennium is a thousand year period of time.
So in the Bible the millennium could also be called the kingdom age when Christ will rule and reign upon the earth for a thousand years. Now we’ve seen in this series of lessons what is going to happen in the end times when Christ comes in the air for His saints.
We’ve seen what’s going to happen after we rise to be with the Lord in the air, we’re going to the judgment seat of Christ, the marriage supper of the lamb, and then we’ve seen what’s going to happen on the earth after Christ has come for His saints.
Then we saw what’s going to happen during the great tribulation on the earth. We saw last Sunday what’s going to happen when Jesus comes in power and great glory and brings the great tribulation period to a close.
