Revelation 9:13-21 & 18:21
If you have your Bible this morning, I want you to turn to Revelation Chapter 9 and then we’ll be going to Revelation Chapter 18. In Revelation 9 and Verse 13, I want to bring a message entitled, “Iraq – Prelude to Armageddon”.
Certainly, we’re living in exciting, exciting days. Last Sunday night I talked about the signs of the times that only this generation has seen and we are truly living in days that foreshadow the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Revelation 9 beginning in Verse 13, “AND THE SIXTH ANGEL SOUNDED, AND I HEARD A VOICE FROM THE FOUR HORNS OF THE GOLDEN ALTAR WHICH IS BEFORE GOD, SAYING TO THE SIXTH ANGEL WHICH HAD THE TRUMPET, LOOSE THE FOUR ANGELS WHICH ARE BOUND IN THE GREAT RIVER EUPHRATES.
AND THE FOUR ANGELS WERE LOOSED, WHICH WERE PREPARED FOR AN HOUR, AND A DAY, AND A MONTH, AND A YEAR, FOR TO SLAY THE THIRD PART OF MEN. AND THE NUMBER OF THE ARMY OF THE HORSEMEN WERE TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND THOUSAND: AND I HEARD THE NUMBER OF THEM. (An army of two hundred million soldiers)
Now John’s day did not even have a population of two hundred million and yet he sees an army of two hundred million. Now notice in Revelation 18 what the Bible says about the destruction of Babylon.
Verse 21 of Revelation 18, last week we studied in this particular service how the Bible predicts certain things about Iraq, the country the Bible calls Babylon in the Old and New Testaments, the land of the River Euphrates.
Verse 21, “AND A MIGHTY ANGEL TOOK UP A STONE LIKE A GREAT MILLSTONE, AND CAST IT INTO THE SEA, SAYING, THUS WITH VIOLENCE SHALL THAT GREAT CITY BABYLON BE THROWN DOWN, AND SHALL BE FOUND NO MORE AT ALL.”
Now if you had time to read the entire chapter, Chapter 18, you’ll find that Babylon, modern day Iraq, is going to be destroyed by a fiery holocaust and the Bible graphically depict ...
