Psalm 5:3 (NIV)
3 In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
Having an effective and power-filled prayer life requires a couple of things…
First off, a person has to have a Saving Relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ. That’s because like James tells us, James 5:16 (NIV)
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
The prayers of a righteous person…you and I don’t get righteous because we’ve been ‘good enough,’…we don’t get righteous because we’re members of the “right” church…we don’t get righteous because we “go to church enough or at the required times”…we don’t get righteous because we recite the Bible or the Koran, or the Book of Mormon, or the Torah…we don’t get righteous by any of that…we get righteous ONLY by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord…we get righteous because we become righteous because of Jesus Christ IN us once He is our Savior…so to have an effective and power-filled prayer life…you must KNOW Jesus personally as your Savior and Lord!

It’s simply making that CHOICE…and this is the hardest part…the rest is easy once you get past CHOOSING to put Jesus ABOVE all else and spending time with Him. I say this is the hardest part because your FLESH…your normal nature will find all sorts of things to distract you…you’ll want to watch a TV show…or go in to work early and come home late to make your boss like you; to spend more time on the slope ...
