I'd like for us to turn to Ephesians Chapter 3. Ephesians Chapter 3, I'd like to speak today on this subject - The Unsearchable Riches of Christ. That's a tremendous statement in itself isn't it? The Unsearchable Riches of Christ.
We are going to share with you about ten verses in the message but I want you to notice right now particularly the eighth verse of Ephesians Chapter 3 as Paul talks about these unsearchable riches that are in Jesus Christ.
He says, "UNTO ME, WHO AM LESS THAN THE LEAST OF ALL SAINTS, IS THIS GRACE GIVEN, THAT I SHOULD PREACH AMONG THE GENTILES THE UNSEARCHABLE RICHES OF CHRIST".
A distraught wife sought out a Christian marriage counselor to discuss with him the problems that they were having in their home. As she spoke with him about some of the things they were facing she said, "I don't understand why it is that we are having all of this trouble."
She made this statement. She said, "We have everything that money can buy." She held up a diamond ring and she said, "This ring is worth thousands of dollars." She said, "We live in a mansion in the most eloquent part of the city. We have a summer home on the lake and we have three luxurious cars parked in our garages."
And the Christian counselor paused for a moment and then said to her, "It's alright to have everything that money can buy as long as you don't lose the things that money can't buy."
Folks, we have some things in Jesus, some unsearchable riches that money cannot buy. As we study this word, Unsearchable Riches we discover that people who translated the New Testament out of Greek and into English had a difficult time giving us some kind of proper translation.
