When Cornelius, the Roman Centurion, called a special meeting, he told Peter that they had gathered "to listen to everything the Lord had commanded (him) to tell (them)." Now that we are all back from the summer vacations, we need to express similar sentiments.

I. The People Who Were Present.

A. People on a pilgrimage.
1. Where Cornelius used to be.
a. Roman citizen.

b. Pagan religion.

2. Where Cornelius had arrived.
a. From pantheism to monotheism.

b. From man made gods to God who made man.

c. From Roman relativism to Jewish absolutism.

d. From materialism of empire to spirituality of kingdom.

e. From personal gratification to prayer, fasting, alms.

3. Where Cornelius wanted to be.
a. Spiritual hunger.

b. Eager expectancy.

B. People with a problem.
