An Assembly 2:1a with CHRIST SHINING IN the Midst: The Church at EPHESUS: They were Christians who Pleased God because they:
1. OVERCAME STRONG IMMORALITY: Do you see why Paul had said to them 40 years earlier -- Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts 5:3-5 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 2. OVERCAME STRONG EVIL INFLUENCE: Thus, criminals came from far and wide to find a haven. And, their presence only permeated the city with evil. Ephesians 4:25-32 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are seale ...
