INTRODUCTION: The Apostle Paul had a passion to see believers reach their God-given potential. At the same time, he felt an overbearing responsibility to encourage, invest, and to challenge the believers to a life of obedience. On numerous occasions, you find Paul wishing and hoping for a greater development of spirituality as opposed to carnality. What spiritual leader does not desire to see spiritual maturity in his followers and the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit?

The Holman Christian Standard Bible translates Gal 4:19, "My children, I am again suffering labor pains for you until Christ is formed in you."

The Message – "Do you know how I feel right now, and will feel until Christ's life becomes visible in your lives? Like a mother in the pain of childbirth."

New Living Translation, "Until Christ is fully developed in your lives."

Amplified Bible, "Until Christ is completely and permanently formed (molded) within you."

Contemporary English Version, "Until Christ may be seen living in you."

I wish to present a clear vision of how this looks in the context of your life and this fellowship (FBCW). It's a ""Let's get back to the basics of life" type challenge.

In Radical, David Platt posed 2 penetrating questions:

1. Would you say that your life is marked right now by desperation for the Spirit of God?

2. Would you say that our church is characterized by this sense of desperation? (Who is the church?)

In the first century, the question would often be posed,
"What's most important in a believer's life?"
