INTRODUCTION

1. ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES TO COME ALONG IN YEARS IS HDTV, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION. IN TECHNICAL TERMS, HDTV SCREENS HAVE FAR MORE LINES OF RESOLUTION THAN CONVENTIONAL TV SCREENS. DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY HAS MADE POSSIBLE THE ADDITION OF HUNDREDS OF LINES OF RESOLUTION ON A SCREEN SO THAT THE PICTURE IS LITERALLY LIFELIKE. IT IS JUST BASICALLY THE SAME AS BEING THERE.

2. IN OTHER WORDS, HDTV BRINGS WHAT THE INDUSTRY CALLS "SUPER CLARITY." WHETHER YOU ARE TEN FEET AWAY OR TWO FEET AWAY, THE PICTURE IS PERFECTLY CLEAR - NO FUZZY LINES, NO DISTORTIONS, AND NO SHADOWS. IT IS UNLIKE ANY TV IMAGE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE.

3. IF YOU HAVE SEEN IT THEN YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. IT IS ALMOST LIKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SEEING A PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMEONE AND THEN SEEING THAT SAME PERSON LIVE AND IN PERSON.

4. I RAISE THE QUESTION, "WHAT WOULD LIFE LOOK LIKE IN HIGH DEF?" WHAT IF YOU WENT FROM CONVENTIONAL LIVING TO HIGH DEF LIVING? IN THIS SERIES OF MESSAGES WE ARE GOING TO LOOK AT SOME THINGS IN LIFE THAT WE OBSESS OVER, SWEAT OVER, DREAM ABOUT, TALK ABOUT, WORK FOR AND LOOK FOR- THINGS LIKE SUCCESS, HAPPINESS, LEADERSHIP, AND CONTENTMENT FROM A HIGH DEF PERSPECTIVE.

5. TODAY WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT SUCCESS IN HIGH DEF. ONE OF THE REASONS I WANTED TO GO TO COLLEGE AND DREAMED OF BEING A LAWYER WAS THAT I WANTED TO BE SUCCESSFUL. I ALREADY HAD SUCCESS DEFINED. FOR ME, IT WAS:
(1) BEING A MULTI-MILLIONAIRE BY THE TIME I WAS FORTY
(2) LIVING IN A MILLION DOLLAR HOME
(3) BEING IN THE TOP 5% HIGHEST PAID
ATTORNEYS IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA
(4) OWNING A SECOND HOUSE ON THE LAKE
(5) BEING MARRIED TO A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN
IN MY CASE, ONE OUT OF FIVE IS NOT BAD!
