D.L. Moody suggested the greatest tragedy of his day was that Christian leaders attempted to traffic in unlived truth. It is our tragedy as well. We cannot give away what we don't incarnate. We must import truth before we export truth. God wants to construct our "being" before our "doing."

I. THE WISDOM IN HIS DIRECTION. 32

A. COMMENCES WITH A COMMENDATION.

"I commend you to God and to the word of His
grace."

1. PRAYER.

No substitute for prayer, for prayer acknowledges dependence on God and lines us up with His purposes. Good intentions, good ideas, or good programs cannot overcome the effects of prayerlessness.

EXAMPLE:

I am carrying a burden for FBCW Corporate Prayer

2. WORD OF GOD.

"word of His grace"

1 Peter 2:2,"as newborn babes, desire the pure
milk of the word, that you may grow thereby"

B. CONTINUES WITH EDIFICATION.

"which is able to build you up" -- term of construction; God builds lives through His word and prayer




1 Thessalonians 2:13, "For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe."
