(A) Series: THE NAMES OF GOD ... Knowing God: The Answer to your greatest needs.
1- The names of God are God revealing Himself to His people at the point of their greatest need.
2- As we learn the names of God, we are on a journey of getting to know God better ... we let God change us as we accommodate ourselves to what we are learning about God.
3- God changing us is a process ... it's not an event ... it's a journey.
a- In this change process ... there is God's part .. and there is "our" part.
b- God's part is His Power ... Our part is Cooperation.
c- God's Power, through His Holy Spirit, controls the process... we yield to what God is doing! ... We cooperate with God!
* It does us no good to know the names of God ... if you do not get closer to God ... redefine your relationship with God ... allow yourself to be changed as you cooperate with God's revealing more of Himself to you:
4- Notice the process of change we have gone through thus far in getting to know God ... He is: a- Elohim ... Creator ... The Answer to My Need for a Purpose...
b- Adonai ... Lord and Master ... The Answer to My Need for Significance ... Priorities.
c- El Elyon and El Shaddai ... Almighty God, Most High and Almighty God, who nourishes ...
... The Answer to My Need for Power ... no matter what my situation.
d- Jehovah and Jehovah Jireh ... The Ever Present Lord and the Lord Who Provides ... The Answer to My Immediate Needs... He meets me in the moments of my life. e- Jehovah Rophe ... The Lord Who Heals ...The Answer to My Hurt ... f- Jehovah Nissi ... The Lord, my Banner ... The Answer to My Need for Help.
