Romans 8:16-17

We need to understand that God's blessings do not come to us because of our goodness but because we are God's Children.

Rom 8:16-17 NLT
17 And since we are his children, we will share his treasures--for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too.

We do not earn God's blessings but we can put ourselves in the position to receive them more readily. On this 40-Day journey we have covered important topics about putting ourselves in a place where we can receive the blessings of God. On this Journey of 40 Days of blessing let us look back at what we have learned?

1. God wants to bless you! - Ribbons on the cross!
Prov 10:22 NLT
22 The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
God's Word is filled with promises of Blessings.

2. God blesses the obedient! – Get rid of your sin! The trunk has left the room!
One of the first conditions to God's blessing is to be obedient to His commands.
Deut 15:5-6 NLT
5 You will receive this blessing if you carefully obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today. 6 The LORD your God will bless you as he has promised.
3. God blesses the generous. – "Are you welcome at my table"
Luke 6:38 NLT
38 If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving--large or small--it will be used to measure what is given back to you."
4. God blesses the confident – Whose Holding your rope
Heb 10:35-36 NLT
35 Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.
