1 Corinthians 12:1-10
How we need to say along with David in Psalm 139:14, "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
Did you know that you are "wonderfully made" by God? You say, "Well Ernest, I sure don't feel wonderfully made this morning?" Well .. you are! And do you know what that word "wonderfully" means? It means "to be distinct .. to be marked out."
God has made you distinct! He has marked you out! You ask, "To do what?" To do what only you can do the way only you can do it! That's why He's given you a Gift of Grace!
Now take your Bible and join me in the book of 1st Corinthians. We're discovering our gift of grace .. our spiritual gift/s ... these days so that we can dedicate our grace gift to God! And after discovering it and dedicating it .. we're going to develop that gift so that we can deploy that gift within the fellowship of our church!
Now let me remind you what we saw last Sunday in thinking about God's Gifts of Grace.
(1) THE DEFINITION OF GOD'S GIFTS OF GRACE.
12:4, "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit." And the Greek word translated "gifts" is (?????????: charismata). It's where we get the word "charismatic."
Now .. some people divide the family of God into charismatic Christians and non charismatic Christians. I hear people say, "Oh, he's a charismatic" or "he's no charismatic." The truth is that there is no such thing as a non charismatic Christian! In the truest sense of the word .. every child of God is a charismatic because they all possess a spiritual gift through the grace of God! Everything I have in Christ is a gift of God's grace!
My salvation is a gift of God's grace. My spiritual gift is a gift of God's grace and on and on! I'm as charismatic as a child of God can be for I have received by His grace a spiritual gift/s!
