A Prayer That Will Cure the Blues!
Steve Wagers
Habbakuk 1-3

1. THERE IS A LEGEND THAT SATAN
DECIDED TO GET RID OF A NUMBER OF
HIS TOOLS, SO HE ARRANGED AN
AUCTION. THERE WERE ENVY, DECEIT,
MALICE, SENSUALITY, AND MANY OTHER
TOOLS, WHICH SATAN HAD USED
SUCCESSFULLY, WHICH WERE PRICED
VERY LOW. ONE PIECE, MARKED VERY
HIGH, WAS LABELED
'DISCOURAGEMENT.' ONE BIDDER
ASKED, "WHY DO YOU WANT SO MUCH
FOR THIS TOOL?" THE DEVIL REPLIED,
"THIS TOOL HAS ALWAYS BEEN MYMOST
USEFUL ONE. YOU CAN SEE IT HAS MORE
WEAR THAN THE REST. IT IS USED AS A
WEDGE TO GET INTO A MAN'S MIND
WHEN ALL OTHER MEANS FAIL.
PRACTICALLY EVERY CHRISTIAN HAS HAD
THIS TOOL USED ON HIM, ALTHOUGH
VERY FEW KNOW THAT I'M THE ONE
WELDING IT!" AS IT WORKED OUT, NO
ONE COULD AFFORD THE PRICE THAT
SATAN WANTED FOR THE TOOL OF
DISCOURAGEMENT, SO IT STILL BELONGS
TO HIM, AND HE IS STILL USING IT
TODAY!"

2. THE BOOK OF HABAKKUK IS A BOOK,
WHICH OUTLINES A MAN WHO HAD THE
BLUES. HE IS THE PROPHET HABAKKUK,

3. THE NAME HABAKKUK MEANS, "TO
CARESS, TO EMBRACE, OR TO FOLD
THE HANDS." IT INDICATES THAT HE

HEART AND BECOME DEEPLY CONCERNED
ABOUT IT, OR WHO WOULD CLING IN
DESPERATION TO GOD. IN FACT, IN
VERSE 1, WE READ THE WORDS, "THE
BURDEN WHICH THE PROPHET
HABAKKUK DID SEE."

4. WE KNOW LITTLE, OR NOTHING ELSE
ABOUT THE PROPHET OTHER THAN WHAT
WE ARE TOLD IN THIS BOOK. THIS IS A
BOOK OF ONLY 3 CHAPTERS, AND 1373
WORDS. THE TIMES IN WHICH HE LIVED,
AND IS DESCRIBING HERE IS MENTIONED
IN 2 KINGS 21-25, AND JEREMIAH 21,
26-29, 36-40. THUS, HE GIVES TO
EVERYONE OF US, "A PRAYER THAT
WILL CURE THE BLUES!" IT IS A
PRAYER OF AGGRAVATION, A PRAYER OF
ANTICIPATION, AND A PRAYER OF
ADORATION!

1. THE TROUBLE OF A PRAYING
MAN!
{A PRAYER OF AGGRAVATION}

1. {NOTICE VERSE 1.} THIS IS HIS PRAYER
OF AGGRAVATION. HABAKKUK IS
FACING A ...
