INTRODUCTION:
In this series we have already validated Satan and his kingdom.
Without a doubt he is real, his demons are real, and we must be
knowlie geaie of them. Tonight we a-re going to study demons in
the Old Testament and the New Testament and answer some relevant
questions for you.
I. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH ABOUT DEMONS?
1. Old Testament sample:
(I Samuel 15:3,9,11,13,20,[22-23), 26,25)
(I Samuel 16:14,17,23)
* Partial obedience is the most subtle form of
disobedience.
2. New Testament samples:
(Mark 1:23-26; 1:34; 1:39; 3:10-11; 5:1-20)
II. WHAT IS A STRONGHOLD?
Explain:
2 Corinthians 10:2-6 "Destruction of fortresses or strongholds"
Definitions:
"A stronghold is a set of conditions which a demon has built around
himself against being recognized and thus expelled."
Stronghold may be a combination of many feelings, emotions and fears.
To pull them down is to cut off his means of protection. He is
hiding in the stronghold!
Application:
Define some strongholds which would possibly exist in your life:
Continual compulsions- resenting, smoking, drinking, working,
speaking
Fears - phobias
Unnatural sexual desires
Mental suffering - worry, guilt, shame, inferiority
Involuntary feelings and actions - temper, anger, depressions,etc
Wierd unbiblical beliefs - beliefs opposite of God's Word
Destructive Dreams - out of ordinary pattern
An inordinate desire for attention
Physical symptoms unexplainable - pschosomatic illnesses
Alcohol and drug addiction
III. WHAT KINDS OF INFLUENCE CAN THE DEVIL AND HIS DEMONS HAVE?
1. OPPRESS YOU - an attack from the outside!
