Define purposelessness: having no purpose, aimless, meaningless
Define purpose: Something that one sets before himself as an object to'-
be attained. An aim or end to be kept in view.
Quote: "Take aim at nothing and you will hit it."
Thomas Fuller said, "A good archer is not known by his arrows, but his aim."
"When a man does not know what harbor he is making for, no
wind is the right wind."
QUESTIONS:
Do you always have direction in your life?
What is your purpose in life?
T.S. Today, I want to do this study totally different than we have done
the others in format.
I. PAUL TILLICH: THREE GREATEST ANXIETIES OF LIFE.
1. Purposelessness
2. Guilt
3. Fear of death
T.S. People do not have direction in their lives. They are living without
purpose.
II. THE RESULTS OF PURPOSELESSNESS.
When you see the following signs they indicate that a persons does not have a
purpose
1. Poor self-image
2. A bad attitude
3. No respect for authority of any kind.
4. Lives on a continual "cycle of problems."
5. Is a conformist
6. A life style of bad habits
