Romans 8:12-17
INTRODUCTION:
The greatest problem in the church is the greatest problem ir America.
This problem could be the downfall of our nation. The probiem "Home
sweet Hone has become Home sour Home.
In the text today we find some intimate terms, family terns, that a-..
used in the Bible about our relationship to Jesus Christ. Nine tio,
we see the terns: son, heirs, Abba. Father, and children.
Illustration:
Saw parents this week - a great deal of who and wnat I am has been
passed down to me from them.
Application:
What are we passing down along the line of our generation?
If that is the Aey to America, the church, and to my success In
m-.y family - What must I do?
Listen, this morning as we preach on "MIMING FROM GENERATION
TO ENERRTiO"
The Bible says our sins and our blessings 1il1 visit to future
generations. Will you pass sin or blessing to your next
generation? Will FBC, Springdale, Arkansas, pass sin or
blessing to our future generations.
This morning I want to share with you how we can win for Christ
in generations to come. Our homes need it. Our church
needs it. Our world needs itl What must we do?
1. OUR OBLIGATION TO THE PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS. (12-13)
Explanation:
Our obligation to the present and future generations is tu
live according to the Spirit. (12)
He states emphatically our obligation is not to the flesh.
If we live to the flesh we will die without God, be
hostile to God and live in emptiness.
If we live under the contro' of the Holy Spirit we
will have life, peace, and power. te are cbligatp;:!
to live under the Holy Spirit's control.

Important questions to ask myself:
1. Do I live under the Holy Spir''ts control'
2. Do I sense an obligation to others to live by the
Spirit's control and power?
