Is Winning Worth It? by Ronnie Floyd

Romans 7:14-25
In Romans 7 you see a picture of real life. No game, no glamour.
BUT REAL LIFE. One has written,
"7he 7th of Romans- socu-ld- always be printed in-
letters of blood. Here are passions. Here are tears
and pity. Here heaven and hell meet."
You find the testimony of one of God's greatest Saints. He
is telling it like it is in life. His honesty is scary. In the middle
of his frustration you sense he is on the brink of throwing in
the towel. I sense he is asking, "Is it worth living for Jesus?"
"Is trying to win for Christ worth it?"
T.S.: This morning I know every person at one time or
another has wanted to give up or has questioned the worth of
living for Christ. As we examine Paul's testimony we can
understand why we get into this predicament of wondering
whether it is worth it to hang in there for Jesus Christ.
Explain: Law is spiritual because of God
Two realities exist:
1. Who God Is.
(a)God is Holy (b) God is Spiritual
2. What God Expects
(a) To be like Him (b) To obey Him.
One reason we are so frustrated in the Christian life is we
know what to do - what is right - what God expects - BUT
somehow, someway we fail at the doing of what we know
is right.
A central lesson of this entire text today is:
"The law can tell you what to do, but it cannot
impart the power needed by us to carry it out."
